Inspiration :As with most vintage builds this was a scapyard salvage project. The client wanted an old chasis but a modern motorcycle built to last and not give problems when running. He wanted it fitted with all the latest technology on brakes etc to give a comfortable, smooth and safe ride.The guard who owned this was extremely knowledgeable, surprisingly, of the value of the bike and wouldn’t part until he got his pound of flesh. The reason- this bike used to belong to a firang who gave it to him as a gift when leaving the country and told him to hold onto it for 20years at least.
Customisation undertaken :
- Restoration/ extension of chasis & body - redone with new sections to replace all rusted parts. Pads added to tank & Stance of bike is flat aka the old style racers.
- Rear custom disk brake mated to a custom built spoked rim & a new front fork installed to accommodate front disc brake.
- 170mm rear tyre + 110mm front tyre both mounted on custom alloys.
- A new integrated silencer assembly with air filter intake & old style air filter.
- All suspensions used are custom built with the enhanced front triple joint assembly to the suspension.
- There is no chrome on this custom vintage build. Everything is poweder coated given the motorcycle was to go to a location close to the sea.
- The colour also kept in line with old times with subdued sunset orange.
