Dark Knight is a good example of when someone walks in with a thought in his mind of trying to re-engineer a cruiser motorcycle into a hybrid of cruiser and an off road motorcycle. Dark Knight is not conventionally either a cruiser or a off roader but an attempt to really try to incorporate characteristics ofboth.
All this done to fulfill the desire of a client whose home enviroment is having extremely bad roads, bad lighting but requires him to travel long distances on extremely bad roads and even venture off road sometimes. In addition he wanted to be able to cruise at high speeds on paved asphalt roads too. Anyone who has done both these types of riding knows they require completely different setups of engines and suspension. To make it even tougher, desire was there also to make the package styled in a completely new manner.
To do this, we made a complete new design from scratch, new chasis that allows us to raise the height of the motorcycle, shorter wheelbase, boosted suspension front with stronger springs and altered oil flow valves + dual gas filled shockers in rear with adjustable suspension. All of this is complemented by a brand new electronics boost with larger batteries, new bigger lights and enlarged alternator. Due to budget contraint we could not make the suspension adjustable on the go- maybe the next one we will. Alloys and enhanced disc brakes front and back complete the customisation. Due to the extra travel needed to go offroad, hidden shocks mounting allows for large clearence in rear wheel even when loaded with 200kg of weight on top.
Engine is boosted with K7N filter, porting in exhaust, enlarged piston & larger jets in carb. Silencers are new not free flow but baffled to deliver on sound quality need of client.
A completely different kind of body styling which we havent done before and enlarged instrument cluster to allow for easy reading over rough roads completes the package. The chrome may seem at odds with the package but that is dilebrate to deliver to the clients desire to have a radically different concept as is the look of the entire project. Some people love this others hate it- it is
